Hi everyone, I'm new on these boards and have spent the last couple days trying to find some updated information on here. I have an 01 MDX with a factory stereo and bose system, w/o nav. I am looking to install a new HU and was going to order it off Crutchfield. However, on their install remarks it mentions that I will have to fabricate a mounting bracket and/or modify the car to get the aftermarket unit to fit.
Does anyone have any insight on what is involved in this? Or will an aftermarket go in without any problems? |

If it is a single din radio, then there is a kit you can buy to make it fit. Crutchfield should actually have the kit and it should be free if you buy a head unit. Now if you are looking at a double din, then its a different story. There is currently no kit to install a double din. It will bolt to the factory brackets but a trim ring has to be made to fill in the gaps.
Hope that helps. |

| That's exactly what I was wondering. I am looking at just a single din. Thanks. |

I've seen a couple of single din on ebay. You might want to check there too. |
