Hi everyone, I have been wanting to upgrade my 05 MDX to HID for a long time already, I have been doing some research on this forum, and after reading many posts, have decided that many people agreed the 4300 H11 is the best for the MDX. However, I have a few questions:
1)XenonDepot is now called "www.kbcarstuff.com" when you type in the website it automatically changes to that. Are they still the same reputable dealer that everyone experienced?
2)The HID i am looking to purchase is called "H11 4300k Xtreme Xenon HID Conversion Kit", would this be the right thing? here is the link http://www.kbcarstuff.com/ProductDe...e=XT%2D4K%2DH11

| This is not the same kit that XenonDepot sold originally. I wonder if the kits are getting so cheap that kit makers can no longer use OEM components because they can't remain competitive? |

So in other words, were the original versions of the same kit better quality? if thats the case, I should hold off buying then?

IMHO, yes they were better quality. They used OEM ballasts and capsules. Of course, they were a lot more expensive. You may be hard pressed to find an OEM based H11 kit anymore. I think Xenon Depot was one of the few who sold them. |

I researched this pretty extensively. The info is on their website somewhere. The OEM ballasts are not sealed as well as the ones they are currently using.
I put in that exact same kit in mine (HID Extreme 4300k) and have been very happy with it.
And it is sealed against the elements. Buy it, install and enjoy. There are photos on this board of the kit in our 06. |
