Yesterday my 19" MRR Design HR-2s arrived :2:
Here are some initial shots...I'll take better ones soon...I'm looking for black side step bars to compliment the look...

| I like it! A very clean look. :2: Might I add, the shine on the truck looks good too. |

My wife wanted larger tires to fill the wheel wells, so I went with 255/55/19s, Pirelli Scorpion Zeros.
In retrospect, the tires are a little too "trucky" for the MDX, so I'll probably go with 245/55/19 next time (which are more in line with the original diameter of the OEM wheel). 255/50/19 is the proper diameter for 19's, but 255 is a wide tire for this vehicle...245 should fit nicely on the 8.5" wide rim (plus, they're a lot cheaper). |

I was thinking about going with the Scorpions as well, can you elaborate on what "too trucky" means? as in more road noise, comfort in driving, looks, or all of the above.
Thanks in advance. |

I used "trucky" to refer to the 255 width + 55 height. I definitely would go 245/55/19 next time because the meaty look is okay, but not as fitting with an MDX as it would be on a Tahoe.
Aesthetically, the MDX is penalized for having a stock 7" wide wheel with a 45mm offset...anything 8"+ wide, you need an aggressive offset (my 19 x 8.5's are 35mm)...which isn't bad, but they stick out more than one would probably expect. A 245 series tire would therefore help create a more flush look.
As for ride quality, it's a little stiffer (which is a good thing), but the increased weight of the wheel/tire combo compared to the 17's is definitely present.
Overall: happy :D , but there's a lessons-learned on the 255/55/19 tire. |

| I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but looking at this X re-affirms my opinion - the first generation X is defintely better looking than the Boat looking, FUGLY, warrior shielded, second generation X. According to some car mags the first gen is safer and more reliable too. Glad I have an 06! |

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - I quite like the aggressive look of my 08  |

I like the look. The Scorpions are great tires. Stiff sidewall, & soft compound. Also very light. The pattern looks different than mine though. I have Scorps on my FX, but they might be diff cuz I'm running 305/35 22's.
Although I'm diggin what you've done here, I still think it could use a drop. Looks jacked a bit too high. |

The elevated SUV look is actually what I was going for...I loved the look of the original 2000 MD-X prototype and the latest 2006 MD-X concept as well...big 5-star wheeled, athletic looking SUVs...
