Side Air Bag Light is coming on intermittently. No real pattern. MDX only 2000 miles.
Has anybody else noticed / experienced similar?
FYI I saw a Black and a Silver MDX on the road today.

The light is probably functioning normally. It indicates when an automatic sensor feels that the front passenger is out of position for safe deploymnet of the side air bag. In my experience, it is very sensitive! If a person leans to the side, leans on the window, sits sideways on the seat or if you have a package on the front passenger seat it will come on. It indicates that the side air bag is disabled and it will go off when the sensor is happy with the situation again. On a recent trip, my wife set it off fairly frequently as she reached for things or cat napped.
If you have no person and no object in the front passenger seat and it goes off then it may need adjustment. |

I can't ever get my side airbag warning light to come on, even if I get the passenger to move around, lean on the window/door, etc. Should I get it checked?

I would get it checked, my sensor is not hard at all to trip. Of course it could turn out that yours is normal and mine is hypersensitive..... But it seems to respond to movements that might, in fact cause a problem.
Maybe some others will share their experience. |

| true this system is very sensitive. I see all the time if you put a bag on it or a purse or something like that. It should go on if the person weighs less than 125lbs. This is to prevent injury for someone that small. I personally wouldnt worry about that light coming on unless its on all the time |

Thanks for the replies - didn't realize it was that sensitive. After reading your replies I checked it out and sure enough the light comes with movement on the seats.
