Anyone have thoughts on the price difference for two 05MDX I am consider from two different dealers??? TIA.
Car 1:
05MDX silver, touring NAV+RES, 17,000 miles asking $29,000
Car 2:
05MDX sage brush, touring NAV+RES, 26,000 miles asking $31,000
Is car 1 a better deal? What are some of the things that might account for the price different? Any know issues with 05 model I should consider? Thanks to all the MDX enthusiast to help a potential newbie. |

| Car 1 would be the the better deal all things being equal. Are both of them certified? Interior/exterior might be slightly worn. Does one have any extra accessories? 05 should be pretty solid. You can always haggle those prices when you start inspecting the car. |

One could be certified and one not. Or since these are asking prices, one dealer may want you to feel better about the deal and give bigger discount off asking price. Asking prices really don't tell you anything. You need to get serious with each dealer and play them off against each other.
When I bought my 05 used in Sept 06 from a non Acura dealer, I watched it in their ad for a month as it went from a 37k asking price to a 35k asking price to a 33k asking price. I got it for under 31. You have a great opportunity having found 2 similar vehicles for negotiation. |

I have an 05 Touring with Nav and I have not had any problems with it at all.
Only 'recall' issue was with the OnStar system and it was a software upgrade, if i recall correctly.
If you don't have a distinct color preference, I'd say play them against each other for price.
My suggestions would be:
Insist that the car be Certified Pre Owned, unless it is not from an Acura dealer, to take advantage of the longer warranty.
Verify the 'in service date' of each vehicle because that's when the warranty starts.
Insist that the latest NAV Disc be included in the deal. The 05 models had the previous version of the NAV software, and the upgrade costs $189 retail.
Some accessories that might affect the cost are running boards or side steps, all season floor mats, complete towing package, and similar.
hope that helps |
