How do you change rear hatch wiper blade - Click HERE for Original Thread

Can someone advise instructions how to change the wiper blade on the rear hatch? The manual discusses only how to remove the
wipers from the front control arms. The control arm on the rear hatch seems to pivot up only a few degrees before it encounter's resistance-I am afraid of breaking it, if I try to pivot it 90 degrees out, if it is not made to do that. I can't easily see a locking tab underneath, to get the wiper off. So if someone can let me know, so I don't break it in the process, would appreciate. Thanks.

...but you can do it. Just get a new refill blade. You slide out the old blade and slide in the new refill. You don't have to take the arm or anything else off the vehicle. Simple slide off/slide on. I know they could have made this easier but these things are designed by folks who have no idea how to work on them. I procrastinated for a while and almost messed up the arm trying to take it off when I didn't have to...SO DON'T TRY TO DO THAT!!!! You can do it!!! It's a simple PITA. Let us know how it goes.

The whole blade cannot be changed. Only the rubber refill as discussed above.

It was a hassle, chaning out the blade as described, with only an inch or so of clearance to work between the hatch glass and the control arm. But I did get it done-thanks for the advice. Pretty stupid design that those engineers over at Honda came up with, I think. Every other vehicle I have owned, including my Audi wagon,
at least lets you pivot the control arm out 90 degrees from the glass, so that there is some room to work.

You are correct. I would like the option of putting a good blade on there but am stuck with the factory design.
