| What are people paying for this service after your promo year renewal runs out? |

When XM called back in early February about my trial subscription ending, I told them I liked XM but I wanted the $77 per year special. She checked with her supervisor and said that offer was not available. I declined the regular $143 deal.
Since then I checked with several consumer boards regarding XMs customer service problems. There were many sites with complaints about service and billing problems. One site had hundreds of posts about billing problems of all kinds. Many posters were paying hundreds of dollars just to put an end to the problems and protect their credit rating. After reading these posts I asked some friends about their experience with XM and they were negative too.
Now I'm glad I didn't get that $77 offer. |

There is a large thread in that folder will answer your question and give you some pointers.
I am moving this thread to the Dollar and Sense Forum as well.

Me too.
When I purchased the car, I specifically asked if the free trial included both the music and the nav functions. I was assured that it did.
Sure enough, I had the trial for about a month and both worked fine.
All of a sudden one night, no more XM nav traffic. Stereo was working fine, so I firgured that maybe there was something wrong with the nav or the receiver. Took the car to the dealer. The response I get? Nav traffic requires a seperate subscription. No crap, however, I'm on a free trial no? The answer...call XM.
Ok, I will. Call XM and am told yes, it's separate. I say, does the free 3 month trial include Nav Traffic? Yes, I am told. Are you sure? Yes.
3 weeks later, I get a bill for Nav traffic. WTF?
Turns out they "misunderstood" me and thought I was asking for Nav Traffic under the "promotional rate".
What a bunch of BS. Took me 45 minutes (yes, 45 minutes, I was sitting in a parking lot on the phone waiting to go into the town building, and I was timing it) on the phone to get the charges reversed.
And they said they didn't know what happened. |
