I am leasing a 2007 MDX (6 months/New York) and over the last 3 months there have been indications of a serious oil leak. After 3 months, I initially had to bring it to the dealer after I urgently had to add 2 quarts of oil. At that time they said that they found no external oil leaks and that this was probably due to the fact that the car was not probably "topped off" with the proper amount of oil when I first picked up the car. About 2 months later the same thing happened; however, they said that they could not check the engine internally since the car had the proper level of oil (It had the proper level because I added 2 more quarts of oil so the engine wouldn't seize!!). Anyway, they then changed my oil and I was told to bring the car back immediately if the engine light went on again. Well within 500 miles of the oil change the low oil light went on. I brought the car to the dealer and they say that the car is leaking oil at the level of some "cylinder seal" and I am also losing compression. At this point, I am not sure if I can trust this dealer's repair of a leaky cylinder given how they hesitated to analyze and fix my problem initially. They say they can fix this but is this something that is better fixed or should I pursue getting a replacement vehicle. What are my options ?? This is a new car and this oil leak problem sounds serious. I am new to these serious problems with Acura/Honda so I ask who should I contact at Acura about what sounds to be a serious internal motor problem on a relatively new car. Many thanks for your help.
