The Nav system in my 01 MDX has been flawless and it has paid for itself atleast 2x over since we took delivery in June of '01. I even updated the DVD about a year ago.
Now however, the display screen has decided to work only about 10% of the time. Most of the time it never comes on and just stays blank. Sometimes on a long trip - it comes on in the middle of the trip. Everytime it comes on, the Navigation system is fully operating and knows where it is. It is not temperature or humidity or ?? dependant....it is totally random and I fear only getting worse.
I have the shop manual and have been through the complete fault diagnosis three times. I believe I am at the the final step is "Replace Nav Display Unit".
I have seen a few on eBay. Anyone had any luck with acquiring a replacement through Alpine? Any other good source for a replacement? |
