Has anyone successfully installed Yakima tracks (for Yakima rail riders/cross bars) on their MDX?
I have done a search on this topic on the site and reviewed all related posts but found no clear solution. I have gathered from previous posts that the tracks will not fit directly into the channels on MDX's roof, but did anyone install them slightly closer to the center, on the inside of the rubber trim pieces?
This would require drilling the roof to attach the tracks with plusnut hardware (no access from underneath required). Yakima railriders and crossbars can then be installed to accept any Yakima attachments.
I am a little hesitant about drilling holes in the roof, although I have successfully performed the same installation on my Pathfinder, and have been using this setup with no problems for the last 8 years.
Has anyone done this on their MDX? Any tips/experiences are appreciated. Thanks. |
