After doing much research, I found out how to hack the navigation system to allow a custom splash screen for the navigation system in a 2005+ MDX (white disc). The following web pages give a runthrough of how to hack it generally, but there are some changes to the new 4.62 version. First, see the following web pages:
http://guicide.com/cars/2006civic/n...HackSplash.html
AND
http://www.vistabug.com/bb/viewtopic.php?id=37
However, it seems that they changed the location of the welcome screen for the newer versions of the white disc. I'm not sure how long ago they did this, but my 4.62 disc required the following changes.
(NOTE: Please be familiar with the steps in the above webpages before reading on...)
-Instead of the usual Opening1.bmp, the splash screen is now composed of 3 separate images: OpeningBase.bmp, Acura_emblem.bmp, and NaviTitle.bmp. Just use the 8to16 and bysin programs on all three of these pictures rather than the one Opening1.bmp picture.
In my case, I just made the appropriate sized picture as the OpeningBase.bmp, then subsitituted a small, 1x1 pixel bmp image for both the NaviTitle and Acura_emblem files. This made them so small as to not be visible, allowing me to use just one picture for the splash screen. However, you can feel free to add the original acura emblem and text onto your own custom background if you with - just make a custom background and substitute it for the OpeningBase.bmp file.
I have attached the file that I made for my background, just to give you an idea of what you can do with this.
Enjoy!

| So, did you get rid of the "OK" screen as well? And just curious, how do you have a 4.62 disc for an '05? I thought the 4.62 only came with the '08's and that Alpine wasn't selling upgrades yet? If they are, cool. Oh, and my 4.62 disc is grey, not white). |

No, I don't know how to get rid of the OK screen - and I haven't been able to find out, either.
The 4.62 discs are available on eBay (for much less than acuranavi.com - I never even checked availability there). And it is white... My understanding is that the grey discs are for Canada??? However, i'm not really sure on that part.
If you hear more on the OK button hack, then be sure to post it! I'd love to do that one too. |

I have both a Canadian disc and a U.S. disc and I thought they were both grey...I'll check my U.S. one tomorrow, I know for sure my Canadian one is grey because it's in front of me. :) (my U.S. one is still with the owner's manual in the glovebox)
My co-owner and i are going to see if we can do anything for the OK screen this weekend, so if we get anywhere, we will surely update! |

| I checked my U.S. disc, and you are correct, it's white and the Canadian one is grey. |

Thanks. I have successfully changed my startup screen on my 2007 MDX Technology using the 4.55A white navi dvd.
I also was successful at making a copy of my navi dvd. I am currently using the copy with the original stored away. |
