Hello All,
I have an 04 MDX touring w/ Nav but not the DVD entertainment package. Is is possible to have a dealer retro fit one in there? If so is that crazy expensive? Another option is an aftermarket overhead system, does anyone know of any good systems out there that match the beige interior of the MDX?
Thanks in advance for any assistance |

| Acura should be able to install the factory RES, but it wouldnt be cheap. You might as well go aftermarket. |

| I would go aftermarket and go with the screens in the back of the headrests instead of an overhead screen. I believe Visualogic (sp?) makes them where you buy 04 beige headrests with the screens already installed. |

Thanks, yeah it seemed OEM is going to be too expensive. While I do prefer the headrests that means the people in the 3rd row will not be able to view it so I will be going the overhead route. I found one I liked at a local shop. The Audiovox vod102 (I think that was the model number). It is an all in one unit that seems to fit well. They will also be installing another item that will allow me to view the video on my Nav screen.
Thanks |

Thanks
Or you can do both headrests and overhead, if budget allows. Audiovox seems reliable enough - my dual headrests are Audiovox and still alive and kicking. |

I used to have the OEM RES in the 03, the DVD screen blocked the view of rearview mirror when its down. The design back then was not perfect. In the 07, its alot better. I can see the back even when the screen is down. So, I would go the headrest route (for both rows) if I have to install one for '01-'06 model. Just my 2 cents. |

Ya, they did a great job in 07/08, the DVD player is not in my rear view at all. We made sure of that when we test drove and have confirmed it on a few trips now. |
