I have the NavTeq V4.62 DVD. I used DVDDecrypter (ISO Mode) to make an ISO of the whole disk. I then used Nero V8 to burn it onto a DVD +R DL. Put in the the MDX and it has been working for the last 2 days.
I was using Nero V6, but had lots of issues, got V8 and no problems. Also I did not change the booktype, I just used the defaults to burn ISO.
Next is to change the startup screen and then get rid of the OK, I hate that...
Hope this helps. |

This is interesting news....
Sure would be good to know if we could do this for the Canadian maps for those of us who imported a car from the US. Anyone interested in "making a backup"? |

OK, just to make sure I burned another copy. I pulled out the disk, the Nav gave me an error, put in the new disk, waited and it booted up just fine. I asked for a route to a restaurant in a city about 60 miles away and it gave me one. So it appears to work just fine.
I see a lot of posts were people are having problems. I don't understand unless the new drive units are able to read both PTP and OTP versions. Or do I have to reset the unit once you put in a new disk?

| What did you name the disc? Or did you leave that blank? What speed did you burn at? |

| When making an ISO, DVDDecrypter keeps the original name. I used 2.4x DVD's. |

Anyone know how often they come out with new versions? Here in Utah looks like they are a few years behind.
I have been running the backup with no issues at all, so looks like they are copyable. Nice to know. Now I wish I could backup my DVD-A's... |
