On an earlier thread someone mentioned having their dealer paint a set of '98 Pontiac Grand Prix moldings. There were several others who expresssed an interest in such a possibility. Of course all of that was BEFORE the '02 OEM announcement. However that old thread got me to looking at moldings on other cars and there were several I was interested in (again prior to current announcement), which is why I want to SEE the OEMs. I want something that looks good; that adds to the "class" of the car. |

Well it depends on what they look like, I will be glad to see this item come to market I have had my MDX for almost one year and I now own several dings....people are just plain careless when they open car doors and BAM you now have something to remember them by...................Any way this sounds like a good item.

I just checked with American Honda as to the status of the mouldings, and sure enough, they're ALL backordered!!!
Acura gives a release date of 10/2, plus or minus 20 days, meaning they could be in as late as the 22nd. But to contradict this, they are showing NONE in transit to the warehouses, so this may (I emphasize may) end up being Christmas presents for those of you who want to purchase them. However, most of the time they just show up with not prior notice, so they may very well be in within the specfied time frame.
So here's what I've done. I've overnight ordered the following quantities in, adding two sets per color. People on this list get priority.
White 4
GG 11
SS 19
Mahog 6
Blk 10
Redrock 6
MB 5
The reason that I'm not going to order them in en masse is that backorders are filled by least quantity first, therefore I have to break this order into 2 or 3 at a time placing orders or I'll never get any in, regardless of when the orders are placed. Therefore, get on this list now if you are interested. Some people posted interest, but not a color. This is info I need to know. Remember, I'm not holding anyone to anything here.
Now, I will post in this thread the second that backorders are released. I won't know a darn thing more about the mouldings until they actually arrive here, unfortunately.

My 9-year old was proud of how he "successfully" pulled our garbage can (with metal tube surround) from the street, past my wifes CR-V and my MDX to its rightful spot at the back center of our garage. I pointed out the 14" gash in my passenger side door. I nearly cried. I'm hoping the picture will show the mouling is to be applied at the same elevation, thus saving me the $$$ to have the door painted. |

I know of a way you could have them chromed for real, but it would cost about $200 between nickel powder coating and chroming. Would be very unique though.
