| Does anyone know if the backup sensors come standard in any Acura model? and would you happen to know if they have an on/off button on the console or dash? |

| No and No. 1st "No" -Back up sensor are optional on all models and 2nd "No" none have the ability to be controlled by a on/off switch... that is unless you count the gear shift...! :29: |

They all have an on/off switch and volume control. It is located on the unit in the rear, not up front in the dash.

are you referring to the 07-08 models, b/c i have OEM ones my 04 and if thats true for all years, then I learned something new today finally and SweeT :2: ! mine are so loud! |

| Thanks everyone. I am conjuring up an idea and wanted a nice, lighted button with a parking sensor symbol on it. My Escape had a nice lighted parking sensor button, so it looks like I'll get one of those since I can't get an Acura one. |

i'm in the process of buying an MDX and i since the car is bigger than what we currently have I was hoping that there was a way to add up a back up beeper or something to the car to help my wife when she drives.
does anybody know if that is something acura sells as an accessory? |

Yes, rear parking sensor are an accessory for the MDX. For '07-'08, the speaker and switch to turn them off is in a small, black box that gets pasted into the cargo area. For '01-'06 the switch and speaker are installed in pre-designated areas in the side panels of the cargo area, so it has a nicer install (IMO).
I started this thread because I'm thinking of running the wires to the front and installing my own button rather than just using the black box in the back (we tow so need to turn our sensor off more often than the average person would). |
