Okay so i used my air conditioner after a while for the last couple of days and i noticed that the driver side vents aren't blowing as cool air as the passenger and rear ones are. Basically it seems like it's blowing air from the side and not air conditioned cool air. The temperature for both passenger and driver were set to low.
could this have anything to do with he blower motor they replaced? cuz i haven't used the AC since then, since i got it replaced in December...
anybody else experience the same? |

There is only one a/c and only one temperature of air comming from the a/c coils.
What could be happening, and I think this would be rather rare, is that the "doors" in the system that direct air flow are not operating properly on the driver side. ie. they are in the fresh are or ambient air mode.

Acutally there are 2 sets of coils. One for the back and one for the front.
If you look under the hood you will see the A/C lines split and a good test would be to see if those lines are cold when the compressor is engaged. |

hmm ya that would be pretty rare...i tried it like 3-4 times at different times to see if it made any difference, it didn't. |

Yeah but if there are two coils, for front and back, but the problem i'm seeing is in the front alone, btwn passenger and driver side...

Yes, there is a separate set of coils for the back, but these make no difference on the temperature on the drivers side vs the passenger side.

here is what the dealer's report states
----------------------------------------------
Checked heater valve cable on the engine and the drivers air mix motor. ok.
Used HDS and checked for Body/AC DTC's. None Found
checked for service bullitens. none found.
called tech line, was told to remove air mix control unit and check doors by hand. also to perform hvac self test and input test. checked and found door movement normal.
performed hvac input test for the left and right side mix motors left side. motor not working properly. removed and replaced left side air mix motor. found the left side still warm, called tech line. was told to do a sensor input test for sensor 4-evap output temp. performed evac and recharge of A/C system, found the system low on refrigerent. added Dye to system and recharged A/C system and rechecked system, working normal.
-----------------------------------------------------
Drove home with the A/C on and it seemed to work fine for the 1/2 hour or so for the drive, rest we'll see. The guy was pretty nice, he said if it happens again, to just come in w/o needing to make an appointment. I hope it doesn't come down to it. |
