Hello All,

As you can see this is my first post, I have made up my mind that my next car is going to be an MDX, my price range is somewhere between 15k-20k and im pretty sure I want a touring model preferably with nav but I can always get an aftermarket GPS unit.

now I read alot about the first gen mosty years 01 & 02 having alot of tranny issues that could turn into a nightmare, but I have found an MDX in my town that seems like a nice deal, I've checked it out and its very clean and runs well, But I was wondering if you guys could give me some feedback on weather this would be a good purchase, after all its only got 53,000 miles on it for $15,998.

also its at the bottom of my price range so it will leave me some room for much needed accessories. but the 04 have some better safety features.

thanks in advance! I cant wait to own one of these.

That should be a good deal. Just get it inspected. An aftermarket GPS is a cheaper alternative. What accesories are you looking to get?

How bout these.

Welcome and good luck. Even though I have an '02 and the tranny has been flawless, I would stay away from an'01-'02 and go with an '03 or newer.

Depending on what year I end up with I think I would like to add...

Chrome side steps
Color matched rear wing
Tinted front glass
Color matched wide BSM
Color matched mud guards
Meter wood trim with shifter to finish wood look

if older than '04'
tailight swap
headlight swap with HID

Thats it for now, if I can find an 04 at a good price I will already have a jump start & my kids will be safer. problem is all the 04 I find have more miles than this 02 and are closer to $19K-$20k

Thanks, the dealer was originally asking 24k for the car and dropped it to $19,995 for a quick sale on the day I called. couldnt negotiate much after that but did get them to waive the Doc fee & got a free touch up paint. all in all i think the deal was good, and the car looks great.

I've already ordered some chrome side steps.
