I put these in a couple weeks ago. I went with the Rosen 7500s and ordered an extra set of head phones and an extra game controller. With 3 kids, having the 2 controllers is absolutely necessary to avoid fighting….if I could figure a 3rd Rosen video I’d even consider putting it in but that would be extremely expensive so I opted for a clip on DVD that I had in my last vehicle and ran an extra set of wires so this one too can show a video that is being played on either Rosen.
Each has it’s own DVD player. You can play individual movies on each, play the one movie on either from either video or play games on each. The game controllers and head phones have an A \ B selector switch . You can not see any wires anywhere ( except the extra set running to my 3rd video ) but I’m planning on having those bulkhead mounted on my next trip in ( I wasn’t really sure what I wanted originally so I just asked for the wires to be available )
Price was reasonable. I got a 2 way remote started installed at the same time so I was able to negotiate a discount. The list was $2100 and change but I got a little off from that.
The place I used is Power Source Performance in Edmonton ( 780 452 3662 ). Ken and Grant are the people who I dealt with and as I mentioned on a previous thread – I don’t feel comfortable hacking in to my new Acura so paying a professional to install these was worth every penny to me. And when you talk to them you get the confidence that they know what they are doing. rosen also warranty the headrests for the same as the car – so 4 full years – when you go through a dealer.
Couple of recommendations
- My videos only operate when the key is on ( or on accessory ). It’d be nice to be able to run these without the key in. I plan on having them install a rocker switch and power without the key
- These videos can do a video in jack for external video games. Although each unit has a video and audio in I’d like to have the least amount of wires in the rear seat. I’m going to mount a video in and out in the rear seat or 3rd row somewhere that is ties in to these.
- And lastly – I didn’t know at the time of purchase. The only way for the kids to get the audio is to use the head phones or the FM modulator through the however I can route the volume through the 3rd video player – so it ends up being a good thing to have installed

I just received and installed my Rosen AV7500 headrests yesterday. I knew that they were some of the "better" quality headrests, but I was even more impressed when seeing the in person!!!! These are by far the best purchase we have ever made (aside from the MDX itself). I paid $1499 with free shipping from:

The power hookup took around 30 minutes total and fishing the wires through the seat was a breeze for 3 of the 4 runs. Once I figured out where the wire was coming out at it went really quick. The very last wire that I ran on the left side of the drivers seat was a pain for some reason. I spend 30 minutes on that one by itself. The others took about 2 minutes each. The module sits nicely in a low spot under the passenger seat and the cabling hides nicely under the carpet and through the center console where I also tapped the power into. Absolutely no wires are visible anywhere. I am extremely happy with the results and the kids just about had a heart attack when they saw them in action. The FM modulator works AMAZING!! Serious surround sound action when we were watching "Cars" with thunder bass. Also, the USB port on the front is just an added bonus. I put a USB jump drive in it and it popped up a directory of the drive's contents. Jpgs worked great and when opened from their folder you can advance to the next one with the next button, etc. Also, it seems to play mpeg videos perfectly with decent image quality for mpeg (320 x 240 is mpeg-1 resolution). It did not recognize Quicktime movies, AVI, DivX or MPEG4 movies from the USB drive. However, it is supposed to play DivX discs OK and I tried a burnt DVD-R disc and it worked perfectly. Anyhow, I posted a bunch of install pics in my gallery.
