I have black MDX 07. This winter I used one of those self washing places. I used the brush to apply the soap onto the car but I guess it had small stones in it. It was too late when I realized I made these fine to medium-fine scratches.
Since the MDX is black they are very visible. Does anyone have any suggestions how to remove them without repainting the car since it's only a year old?:( |

| is it on the entire car? IF so, then get yourself a pro detailer to fix it as it will take a buffer and numerous compounds to make sure they come out. If it is on small areas like a door or the hood, you can buff it out by hand using a product called scratch X from meguiars. |

It is on different areas of the car and there are quite a few of them.
They are really visible on the sun. |

Put your fingernail lightly near the scratches and drag towards them, does your fingernail catch them? If so, it is too deep to repair by OTC products.
If not, then take it to a pro detailer and have them just polish and remove the scratches using some compound. |

Or, like some of us with black MDX, you can commit to a life with Zaino. My scratches disappeared with a couple of layers of Z5.
But this is a life of toil: wash the car by hand (no car washes!), apply another layer of Z5 every few months. Then it rains. |

| Oh, same problem with my black X too :( all small scratches are so nice visible... I decided to procect by transparent film all paintedblack areas over my car... Now I've got no any problem with it... Only one problem: now car seems like "cheap painted".... But it's ok when you see on the car from good distance (from 12 ft, for example) |

yeah i got the black MDX as well and its a pain... i've had MANY black cars; the MDX paint or clearcoat or whatever jsut doesnt seem to be very high quality. Just seems extremely susceptible to knicks, scratches, etc.
*rant on*
I got my first door ding and I'm FURIOUS that savages will bang their car door into another without a thought of taking responsibility. Good thing i got the body side mouldings....

Thanks for suggestion. That was one thing I was going to try. I heard good things about it. The thing is, some of the scraches I can feel with my finger nail so I'm afraid they are too deep for Zaino but I'll give it a try. |
