After having test driven countless cars/CUV/SUVs, I finally cracked and drove (or slid?) into the nearest Acura dealership on a snowy December 13th, 2007. Having shopped around and previously leased a TSX for my (then) girlfriend at the same dealership, I decided to return to buy my MDX there. Salesman (prolly the funniest, most non-pc car salesman I've ever met) proceeded to call b.s. on my other dealership quote (they're not making ANY money, go buy it from THEM!!) - never mind that I had SUCH an 'in' with that particular dealership's owner. I walked out, sat in my Porsche (ergo the reason for my sliding into said dealership) and bought the MDX while sitting in their parking lot. Beauty of it is, the salesguy tried calling my back (prolly after he called the owner) and I told him I'd just bought the MDX from the other dealer while parked in his lot !! That alone was priceless.

Idiot.

So here I am - proud owner of an 08 MDX Tech Sterling/Ebony with just over 4000 miles on it now. Must say was never a fan of the previous gen MDX's (apologies!) but the new gen styling (wow!) and $20,000 savings over a comparable X5 won me over. This is where I admit to having been a slave to German cars ever since my 1st paycheck - the plan was to work my way thru - starting with VW (GTI VR6) to Audi A4 to BMW 3 series to finally Porsche (Cayman). Was planning on saving the M-B purchase for when 1) they improved on their crap build quality and 2) I was about 20 years older, lol!

Having had sworn off anything non-German, I can say that I'm glad I made the jump (leap?) to Acura.

I've been lurking long enough and thought I'd say hello.

Hi Cy, It wasn't so much a great deal as it was not wanting to put up with the usual salesman b.s. crying game of him (or according to him - anyone) not being able to sell it for that. I got it for 40 flat plus tax.

Hello and welcome!!! I hope you get the "power steering whine" and "driver's door panel dimple" fixed soon so you can enjoy your MDX again!:)
