| 07 MDX Tech with DVD/RES, 19k miles, listed for $42k, not certified...can probably bargain to $38k? Brand new 08 mdx tech w/out RES listing for 44k...can bargain to 40k....which one is a "better" deal? Any major differences btw/ the 07 and 08 that I need to be aware of? |

| For $2K difference, I'd get the new one. |

| Not much difference between an 07 and 08 - the latter may just have more of the TSBs done. I wonder why the 07 is not Acura Certified? I'd probably go for the new one too. |

| Crikey...the mileage steadily drops off from 06 to 08... |

I'd go for the new one seeing as there isnt much of a difference except for the dimming mirror. It is odd that its not certified.
Also you'll have the new car smell :4: |

| although only a seemingly small price difference, this particular 07 comes with the RES for that price whereas the 08 doesn't. |

| Why is the MPG different on the 07 and 08? The engine is the same and weight is the same? |

Used 07 MDXs are absolutely not worth it IMO.
I have seen 07 Techs with, say, 15k on them do $37k at dealer auctions. New invoice is what, $41k or so? (I am the used car manager and don't pay oodles of attention to the new cars).
To me it isn't worth it. If I pay $37k for one, then pay fees, transport, a few hundred bucks in the shop to certify it, a hundred to detail it, $515 (cost) to certify it...
I only own it for $38,700 after the dust clears. The new car department will sell a new one for $1k over invoice on average. So if I make nothing on the 07 I'm $2-3k less than a new one. I can see being $2-3k less than a new one on a used TSX or even a TL, but not on a over $40k vehicle, that's not even 10% less, more like 5% less to lose a year and 1/3 of the warranty?
Personally, unless I can retail them for $35,995 or $36,995 certified it makes no sense for me to have em. |

1. Buy new 2007, if still available. I'm sure you'll get a great deal on left over inventory.
2. Buy new 2008. Unless you're paying cash, financing is better with new vehicle purchases. RES? Hey, you can always buy a portable dvd player w/ dual screens. Better yet, just buy a fully loaded MDX! Be a big spender! Ha-ha!
3. After buying a non-Cert 15k mi used 2007 mdx- hmmm, I'd probably keep wondering why the first owner traded it...:(
Good look with your purchase! Don't forget to post pics. |

I was a bit high on the 07 MDXs.. There's 2 Techs out there that I can buy in the $36k range with miles in the mid teens.
Still not worth it IMO. I figure that after holdback and other "stuff" I own a new 08 Tech for in the $39s right now.
Bodes well for buyers of new ones, even though the current MDXs are being discounted like the first gen ones never were, they are still very surprisingly holding very substantial residual values. |
