| hello all. just want to make my lurking here official. i have been ghosting in this forum for a long while now; actually got my mdx sept. of '07. nimbus grey, ebony interior, tech package, dvd aftermarket (didn't really need the outboard heated seats as they will be occupied by car seats, the power liftgate is a nice feature but i could live without it). traded in a vw touareg for it, as we needed a bigger vehicle for a third baby. buying the mdx was almost an afterthought, as we were looking at a gmc acadia but then the salesperson asked me to bend over and...well, you get the drift. have put almost 10k miles on it, hasn't looked back since. will post some pictures as soon as i can get some decent ones. thanks. |

Indeed - welcome to the forum. I would've thought that the VW was just as big inside, but obviously not...
We considered the VW before buying the MDX but if I was going for the VW, I'd want the diesel and it's not available yet, so we never drove one... |

thanks for the welcome. i know and share your enthusiasm for the mdx. it is one heck of a machine. outside of exotics, i think only a few models have a true dedicated fan base, and i think the mdx is one of them.
one of the selling points of the mdx to me was that it has the widest hip and shoulder second row room in its class, even besting the acadia. to me it was important, as i need to shoehorn three car seats in the second row but didn't want to go the full size route. couldn't do that in the touareg as it was smaller, and i can't help but compare the mdx to my beloved touareg sometimes, but then again, that's stuff for a whole new thread. as far as i am concerned, my mdx is worth every penny i pay for it and more, and i am saying that not just to fool myself. |

Congrats and I agree ...some things I can say aren't perfect with the X...but then for what I got for the money I spent is great and to me that's worth the slight imperfections.
I don't like the touareg to be honest at all ...wife likes it ....the Arcadia is all over the place here in michigan ....I see tons of them on the road...I've seen 2 Xs now in the last 5 months in this area. I think the arcadia "looks" ok ...but it's not something I would buy. You made the right choice :) ...:29: |

you don't like the touareg, really? my only two complaints about the touareg is that it is underpowered and a little on the small side. well, that, and that it is a little too pricey to be a vw. i miss some of the standard features that i had in the touareg; in some respect, i feel that the mdx is a small step back. but all in all, i have to say that i really am happy about my mdx, and that dollar for dollar, it is one of the best buys in its class. |
