That plastic dash trim supposed to look like wood - is a dust magnet.

It is very irritating to see those specks of dust, so quickly after you clean up.

Has anyone discovered any cleaning lotion/spray, that could stop the static of the trim attracting the dust.

Acura engineers should use different materials...next time!

I wonder if Endust would work. I remember using it to good effect when my sister and I would spend the summer at our grandparents' house in upstate New York. Once a week grandma would break out the whip and put her slave labor to good use (i.e. me and my sister) dusting and polishing the furniture in the living room. Anyway, it's supposed to repel dust on wood (hence the name), so it follows that it should do the same on plood.

3M offers a cleanig cloth that can be used on all "scratchable" plastics. Add a touch of water and it works like a charm.

It is alo excellent on Guages.

This will not repel the dust, but I use this min-duster from California Car Duster on the interior. Takes less than a minute a few times a week. http://www.californiacardusters.com...rdetailkit.html

So, how'd the Endust work out for you? I think I might try it this weekend since I've decided it's spring cleaning time for the X (leather conditioner for the seats, low-gloss ArmorAll for the plastic, a proper hosing down for the all-season mats, and a good vacuuming in the cargo hold).

Adam

Take a solution of water and first wipe off all dust. Then dry off and use 303 Aerospace protectant, it gives it a nice shine and helps keep the dust off.

I use Lexols "plastic" cleaner/conditioner that comes in a light blue bottle.....Also one who drives around with windows down is just asking for DUST city dashboards.....Learn to use that fabulous A/C system with the Allergen filters......if you are trying to save a mile or two, perhaps the MDX is not a good option......

That 303 stuff I found to be worthless, over rated and over priced and got me on a mailing list that took me a year to get off of......no thanks to that. It if good for boats and things.....

how did you get it? I got my 303 from a marine store and love it, I didn't get signed up on any lists.

That is really messed up...I suggest that you order any detailing supplies from exceldetail.com, he's really helpful and also a supporter another forum and is unbiased. He also sells all sorts of products. I would recommend him to anyone.

More of a wasteful shame......paper, ink, printing, labor, mailings cost and so on for me just to put it the trash......ever think of how many marketing dollars go right in the can???

OK, ENDUST does not work. That cheap $hit plastic trim is a dust trap.

For the seats - I used to/use Lexoil once in way, but have found Meguiars Leather Wipe cloths to be EXCELLENT !

They come in one of those pullout plastic containers and I'm keeping one tub in the trunk to wipe off spills asap they happen.

I've yet to see a "universal" household product for both cars and furniture......I use Zaino Z6 and it works good. Keep windows closed and use AC.......
Wah
I keep a swiffer in the car... the dust is really annoying.

I use microfiber cloths. It holds the dust better than anything I can find.

seems like the micro fiber cloths work but leave fine scratches in the sunlight. my 04 x did not do this?
