sorry this is a repost from the 2001-2006 board but I didn't scroll down far enough to see this Forum (newbie on the site)

Wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem. I have a 2002 model and the other day I got in the car and noticed water leaking from the overhead light housing right . We had some snow and rain earlier that day. It stopped leaking after a few minutes but when I got back into the car after lunch there as water marks right to the left and forward of the light housing (in between that and the rear view mirror).

I'm not sure whether that's related to what sounds like the windshield being loose (which is a new noise i've noticed lately) or if the moonroof seal is done.

If anyone has had this happen to them, please let me know. I bought the car used in September and want to drive it forever. Thanks

You might have clogged drain tubes leadng from the moonroof. The moonroof seal isn'ts supposed to be watertight- the water is supposed to drain out of the area surronding the moonroof before it fills up the moonroof. Leaves and gook can clog these drainage tubes pretty easily.
There should be a drainage hole in the drivers side front of the moonroof, and the passenger's side rear of the moonroof. If you can get hold of compressed air, blow those out. (they discharge out the the A pillar and B pillar, respectively. You may see the gook come out).
Don't forget the environment- always composte your moonroof drain tube gook
