I just purchased a 2008 MDX. I tried plugging my iPod Nano into the AUX port and when I select AUX on the radio I get nothing and only have an "AUD" on the nav screen.

Does anyone know if there's a list of compatible iPods that work with the MDX or is something else wrong or am I simply doing something wrong?

Your expert advice would be most appreciated.

So no audio? Is the volume up on your ipod and MDX?

Hrm. Yes, the audio was down on the MDX. I discovered that. But the sales guy at Acura said the Nav Display would show tracks, playlists, etc. and all it reads is "AUX". I can't control the iPod from the car controls (again, as stated by the sales guys it would). I'm wondering if only certain iPods work???

i'm not speaking from experience but i'm pretty sure the AUX input is merely a left/right audio connection that is fed from the 1/4" stereo jack. I dont think playlists and tracks are sent over that type of feed. I could be completely wrong though. . .

Acura has a crappy ipod connector which the salesman was probably talking about, but some people have had better luck going aftermarket, like DICE. The regular AUX input will not convey the info you're looking for.

Aux works on all my ipods/others (Nano 8GB, 80GB Video ipod, iphone 16GB, Sansa 8GB, Zune 30GB, & Phillips 30GB). Sounds even better if you can get the Monster Aux cable.

Having said that, I find that the Aux is pretty useless. I can't control anything.... So I've installed the aftermarket Honda Ipod connector (similar to DICE). It doesn't display text because I want to keep XM radio. It will charge my ipod/iphone & fully function from stereo or steering wheel otherwise. :29:
