Anyone heard about or seen pics of the 09MDXs?

The only thing I hear is that they might run on diesel.

When do we get a glimpse?

The 2009 Acura MDX should see no major changes. This premium midsize SUV seats up to seven and has all-wheel drive. The sole powertrain is a 300-hp 3.7-liter V6 engine and 5-speed automatic transmission. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front side airbags, and curtain side airbags that cover all seating rows. Standard luxury and convenience features include a sunroof, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a wireless cell phone link. Options come in three packages. The Technology Package has a rearview camera and a voice-activated navigation system that can display real-time traffic conditions. A Sport Package includes those features plus driver-adjustable suspension. The Entertainment Package contains DVD entertainment, heated 2nd-row seats, and power liftgate. Drive impressions based on 2008 report.

A diesel V6 may become available in the next few years. Parent Honda plans to introduce 4-cylinder and V6 "clean diesels" to the U.S. market in the near future. Honda prides itself on being the American market's fuel-economy leader, and a diesel MDX would help maintain its lead over other automakers. It would also be more affordable than gas/electric hybrid power, which Honda feels works best in cars, not SUVs.

Yeah, the diesel is a possibility, but probably not until 2010.

Only other rumor I've heard is the availability of the power liftgate on all models.

Was hoping for the new set of tail light, the clear type like the last 2 year of the 1st gen's rear look. I think it would look biatching for my blue x. Prob not anytime soon. :1:

I read on here that the power liftgate on all models was now an option for around $500... I forgot the thread, but it is on here somewhere.

Not that it matters much in my case since I plan on holding on to my X for at least another nine years, but I'd like to see the built-in rear passenger window shades that are offered on the 2nd generation Pilot offered in the X as well. I also noticed that the Pilot comes with integrated parking sensors front and rear. True, parking sensors are a dealer-installed option for the rear bumper on the MDX, but it's my understanding that they're always on, which is a no-no when you've got a sleeping baby in the car (there's a switch to turn them off in the Pilot). Also, I've already got a camera back there; where I need the sensors are up front.

Seeing as how these are both standard items on the up-level Touring variant of the Pilot, it seems like it would be pretty easy to drop them into the 2009 MDX. Time will tell...

Adam

You can switch off the rear parking sensors via the control module installed in the left rear, but it's not as convenient as the big "P" button on the Touring Odyssey. The Odyssey also has front and rear sensors. Go figure.

I guess Acura is going to incorporate these items in a MMC. I hope they emulate the Acadia's HUD and six-passenger configuration, the Volvo's Blindspot system, MB's diesel engine with Porsche twin-turbo mods, BMW's free maintenance program (since the X has already effectively assassinated the X5), and then the MDX will truly be the creme de la creme of SUVs.

At least you aren't asking for much... maybe they can solve global warming and hunger too...

Personally, I'm holding out for the Mr. Fusion option... ("Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads...")

Until then, my '07 will have to do.

I heard Honda's actively participating in the anti-global warming efforts. We can eat plood until they solve the hunger issue.
