Hi,
Got a questions, my tire thread is not even, the front tires are measured LF 6/32 RF 5/32 and the rear tires are measured LR 6/32 RR 6/32. I am planning going to lake tahoe. Is the measurement for the tire thread okay on the front particularly the RF 5/32 or do I need that to be replaced? Does the most thread tire should be placed on the front or back?
Thanks. |

Do you rotate your tires to get even wear?
How was the tread measurement determined? If the measurement was made by a tire shop what did they have to say about the safety of the tires.
In general 5/32 is OK, but cannot say for certain without seeing the tires.
The tires with the best tread should be placed on the drive axel.
The Acura is a front wheel drive vehicle.

I really do understand your question:
Tire tread is within 1/32 all the way around, which indicates even not uneven tread wear.
As posted, you are safe until 3/32.
However, with rear drive you want the tire with more tread in the rear.
The opposite is true with front wheel drive: more tread on the rear. I know this is contra intuitive, but it has to do with understeer and oversteer.
Basically, you do not want the rear end breaking loose.
In your case where the tires have about the same tread, it makes no difference.
