Just bought a laptop with an hdmi connection. Was hoping I could connect it to the hdmi-in on my receiver and just play itunes (no video) thru it. Would rather do it this way as I've only got the 8gb ipod nano (perfect size, works fine, dont feel like buying a new one), and really dont want to buy the ipod dock for the receiver. Anyone know if this will work ?
Thanks :)

| Depends on your laptop and receiver HDMI configuration - there are receivers (like my Pioneer) that only have HDMI video pass through and not audio. But there's only one way to find out.. |

Yeah, but to find out, I'd have to open the box, lol.
Have been debating the merits of keeping my impulsive lappy purchase, and even though the salesguy swears it will, I'm not 100% confident in his answer. And I don't know any better, either.
FWIW, its a dell xps 1530 and onkyo sr-705.
Thanks for replying ! |

Your Onkyo 705 supports audio over HDMI, so the laptop should work just fine. |
