| Guys, I am taking delivery of my MDX this week. It is a certified car bought from the dealer direct (single user, clean carfax). So far I test drove it once and everything looks good on the exterior and interior. Is there anything that I should check out when I am taking delivery (mats, 2 set of keys, manual etc ). Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. |

Congrats! an 07?? If it has the wheel locks, make sure you get the key. Make sure to test both key fobs. Ask for the third key- valet key. Check: spare tire underneath, jack and tools. I know you've, checked the interior and exterior but that was probably days ago. Don't be shy to do another visual inspection, test drive it again. If possible do it at day time so you can see it clearly. Put all promises by dealer in writing!!!! Good luck!:1: |

| Do you have nav? If so, make sure try it and ensure it's working. I recall there was someone who bought a used one and the nav gave a disk read error. |

make sure to test the HFL (hands free link) to ensure that any security code set by prior owner was deleted, or that you have the code.
Also check the owner's manual/folder for the card that lists your NAV and audio code - if the power fails (battery/disconnect) you need the code to operate audio/nav.
Since this is a certified deal, I am assuming these things have been checked and explained - but, just to make sure...
good luck! I picked up my 06mdx just seven days ago, have been lovin it! |

As you probably know, the Acura certification process goes through 150 pt checklist that includes certain tolerances, outside of which the part must be replaced. For example, brake pads are replaced if more than 50% worn, and tires are replaced if less than 5/32 of tread left. You can go to the certified pre-owned section at acura.com for the details. Go over this checklist with the dealer and ask for the specific results to make sure they have checked all the tolerances and not just checked the box on the form.
Also, get dealer to go over the operation of all features if you are unfamiliar with the MDX.
I hope you reviewed the service and warranty records before you committed to buy the car, but with the car being Acura certified I would not worry about warranty issues. |

| Do the '05's come standard with XM? If so, make sure you get the radio code else they might try and charge you to get it after the fact. |

here is a pointer no one has mentioned yet.
Make sure the AC vents are all in tact including the rear AC. These things seem to fail all the time and if they are broken they should be fixed at the dealers cost.
I bought my mdx used and certified too and luckikly I found the broken ac vent. They picked up the tab as this is not something the certified warranty would pay for.
Good luck |

| Re: my other thread. I just bought a 2006 and have discovered rusted components under the seats. This car is not certified but is only 18 months old and still under warranty and had a clean CARFAX report. Have not figured out why yet. Just something to check out |
