A couple of months ago I brought my MDX in to have the audio unit replaced with a reman unit because the CDs (5 of them) inside the disc changer were stuck and would not come out. The dealer replaced the unit and shipped the defective unit with my CDs inside to Alpine in Southern California. When the manufacturer returned the CDs to the dealer they were the wrong one. Looked at the paperwork the dealer submitted and nothing wrong on their end. The serial number match my original unit. It appears the manufacturer screwed up.  Who knows where they sent my CDs.
Question I had was can I have the dealer reimburse me for the cost of the lost CDs or do I have go after Alpine myself? What if the dealer refuses to reimburse me saying it's no their fault? What recourse do I have? |

| If you said this happened a few months ago, I would think its too late. Definitely the dealers fault. They had the unit, so no matter where it goes or who fixes it, it was in their hands. So when you got the wrong cds, you didnt do anything? |

When I got the wrong CD (only 1 and it was not the right one), I immediately returned it to the dealer and asked them see what they can do to rectify the problem. They said they will contact Alpine. It has been three weeks now and no word. Can I still get reimbursement from the dealer? |

| I would keep harassing them. Maybe try call the Acura Customer Service line and report this. |

I wouldn't worry so much. Simply go back to the dealership and make sure they do a trace on the CD's.
My stereo unit was replaced last year and the technician had already sent back the defective unit to corporate. It took like 6-8 months before all my DVD-R's were returned to me!
Have faith and just make sure that the service department follows-up.
Best of luck |

Yep! Unfortunately, it took THAT long! Luckily for me, all my MP3's are backed up on numerous external HD's, so no real big loss for me. I simply made additional copies, and were playing those when the mailer from Acura came in. So, now i have back-ups of my back-ups;)
Actually, i use the other discs in my other car.
I don't even own any more audio CD's--they're all in MP3 format. |
