The exhaust/catalytic convertor shield that runs underneath my MDX is rattling and will likely fall off shortly. My dealer told me some time ago that it will need to be replaced but I wasn't too pleased to hear how expensive this piece of shiny metal cost.
Do I really need this shield? Is it more for protection in the back country? My off road experience is regulated to maybe driving on a paved shoulder to go around a turning car. I'd rather just remove it and be done with it unless it does have some true purpose. |

| You could always go to a small muffler shop and get one welded on. Its purpose is to cover the high temperature it exerts. You can run without it, if you choose. |

| That's so much for your reply. I'll hit the local muffler shop next week. |
