Hi everybody, Im new to this msgboard so Im not sure if this issue was previously discussed.
I want to upgrade my subwoofer but I dont want an additional box or anything. I want it to look stock. But the store i went to told me that it is better to get a box because i wont get a good quality system if i use the stock enclosure. :(
Now, i am looking at the powered subwoofers (thin ones like
KENWOOD KSC-SW10 or the Infinity BassLink T). Are they any good? If i decide to use this, where can i get inputs from? ... and how?
Im really confused here.. :( every bit of help/suggestion is greatly appreciated.
btw, i got my 2008 "x" October 2007. IT ROCKS!!! |

Alpine has a very nice self powered sub options out there right now. If I had to do it all over again, I would get the alpine.
I would steer away from kenwood. Infinity might not be so bad if you are only looking for low to moderate bass levels. |

| I am using the Pioneer shallow-mount 10" subwoofer. I cut a template from the stock subwoofer out of 1/2" MDF for the new sub. Dynamated the inside of the quarter-panel (sub enclosure)also. Its running a Pioneer 300watt amp that is small enough to mount under the passenger side front seat. All in all it sounds great! |

thanks guys.. but i went with the Power Acoustik AWB-10.. i was skeptical at first since i haven't heard of this brand before but when i tested it, it sounded awesome... i mean for the price, it is really worth it.
The sub is velcroed at the back. I learned something though. The interior matting (the hairy ones) acts as the other side of the velcro so this sub is movable anywhere at the back. You just have to pull it (really HARD because velcro sticks to the matting like crazy glue) and position it wherever you want.
I also asked them to attach a power connector so i don't have to unscrew anything if i have big cargo and need the space.
