Ah,
Another discovery on our X. I just found out the cargo cover right tab has snapped into 2 pieces. A careful inspection revealed that the tab was already broken and glued. The glue did not hold. I suspect that the previous owner unhooked the cargo cover and released it leaving the cover to retract at full force, and when the tab came to hit the roller frame, the tab snapped into 2 pieces. It seems a shady design from Acura as the tab seems clumsy and screwed from 1 side only.
Most probably, Acura will not sell those tabs as part replacement. And removing the tab is not easy as the 2 screws are special.
My only option is to try to glued it back using a high grade resin.
Is this a common problem with those cargo covers? |
