Wondering what you put under your child seats in order not to mark / stretch / damage the leather.
I have been using a couple of old bath towels in my wifes Mazda 6 however there are some pretty good stretch marks in the leather where the LATCH belt attaches.
Any ideas? |

Doing the same trick with bath towels. May use leather covered you can find at your nearest Walmart. |

I have this. Very please with it. Used it for years on my TL and now in my X. No markings whatsoever on the leather seat. |

Make sure that whatever you use is thin and NON compressible. If it is a compressible item, it will compress in an accident and could alter how the child restraint performs in an accident.
A good way to test if what you're using is too thick is to to use a pencil and mark where the latchplate sits on the seat belt. Then install the carseats without the mats, and look at the seat belt to see the difference. You'll be able to clearly see how much tighter your carseats are without the mats, and how much slack you would have had in a crash.
A thin towel is usually all that is recommended by car seat technicians. |
