I have a 2003 MDX with a top rack and I want to get one of those carriers that fit on it. ANy suggestions on brands to get? I'm thinking the canvas typs - waterproof.

| Thule makes good roof boxes. Yakima is tops for racks. |

Most Thule can't be mounted on 03 MDX. I checked Thule's website 2 years ago, MDX is not in the list. But their boxes looks really good. So I called a local Thule dealer to confirm, they assured me it will work. After I got there and got the box installed, it doesn't fit. The rails on 03 MDX are too wide, and the fixtures can't take it. They ended up with taking the fixture from another box (much bigger) to install it. The fixture is totally different from what's designed for my box. |

Hmm, I've got an 01 and have Thule's for my skis. So they don't work for a box? The mounting is dang near universal I thought. |

YEP! dj-mdx2 is right about the yakima box.
advantages:
-water proof
-security-- it's lockable-you can lock all your expensive toys(ie skis,board,p. float. device, wife's extra stuff--ha-ha!
-aerodynamic
-great life time warranty- I just recently got a replacement- in two days!
disadvantages:
-extra chi-ching
-too bulky for storage
-can't park your X in the garage! |

Actually, most Thule can be mounted on 01-06 MDX - you just need a fit kit with wider clamps. I would think the same for 07+.
Go to Thule web-site - they have fit guide. Just don't forget X fit kit for the box! |
