Hi:
My '05 MDX is running well (no hesitation and smooth acceleration) but at idle, I do notice a little but of roughness that was not there before. On my wife's Taurus SHO, I just usually run some STP gas treatment through it when this sort of thing happens and it runs better, so I'm thinking the same thing for the MDX. Does anyone here have experience using gas treatment/fuel injector cleaner in their MDX? Pros and cons?
Thanks,

| I have used both Sea Foam and Chevron Techron. These will probably be the two most popular treatments used by the posters on this site. Either product works well. |

| (not that anyone really cares). I add a bottle of Techron at every oil change, which is about every six months. I don't do it because I've had problems but just for preventive maintenance. Guess it's working because I haven't had any problems...YET. I get it from Costco. I think it's 6 bottles for $10 or so, which is a considerable savings over the individual price at some auto parts stores. JMHO. |

| I just read my post and it might be interpreted by some that I add Techron to the oil at oil change time. I DON'T! I add it to the GASOLINE TANK at oil change. I do it then because it's just a convenient time to remember to do it. Hope I didn't confuse you. |

I have used almost every fuel system cleaner under the sun -Seafoam, Techron, Redline, even acetone and toluene, but I have found that Gumout REGANE had the biggest and quickest effect.
Gumout makes lots of fuel system cleaners so be careful you get the yellow bottle that says "Complete" on the side and also "Regane".
I double the recommended dose. When it says "treats 20 gallons!!" that means a max of 20 gallons. I use one bottle with 10 gallons in the tank, and run through that tank quickly. |
