| Rough idling and stalls, VTM-4 and Eng lights

I have an 2003 Acura MDX and it recently started idling rough while sitting at a light. Then it shut off. It was a little difficult to start and it seems like it loses power. A system light came on and the VTM-4 light came on. It continues to idle rough and the indicator lights flash on and off or just stay on.
My mechanic has not been able to determine the problem. They speculate it could be gas related (eventhough I've only used premium gas).
He is suggesting I may have to take it to a dealer.
Can anyone help with this problem.

You got to figure out what code its throwing. If you got an Autozone near you, they can pull the codes for free. It could be anything. Might be an 02 sensor, maybe an EGR valve.

Thanks. I'm concerned about driving it and doing any further damage or having it stall again on the road. I'll pass this along to my mechanic and have him pull the codes. Thanks again. FR |
