I just found a screw and a huge gash in my left rear tire. I took it to a local tire shop today and they wanted to replace them all with Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza tires at $213 a pop. So grand total of $938. Minus a $100 rebate. $838.

I decided to drive home and mull it over to see if those were a good option. So doing some research on here and it looks like they're not the favorites and some people even have had rough rides with them.

I've got a 2005 MDX with 43K miles.
I live in Los Angeles, so I need a set of tires that will work in the sun and rain. We go to the snow/mtns maybe once or twice a winter but I have chains if needed.

But I don't know what tires to buy. Looks like Costco has Michelin Cross Terrains for $192. And I've found much better prices on the Bridgestones at America's Best Tire Co and DiscountTires.com.

My current Michelin's have been fine. I do notice that if I get on uneven ground (like if there's a seam in the road) the car really pulls. I'm thinking that's more from the all weel drive than from the tires though.
I'd love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks!

Asking for tire opinions on here is like asking for opinions on color choices!! I can tell you that I replaced mine with Cross Terrains from Costco. Others have use Bridgestone, Goodyear, etc. Lots of threads on replacement tires so give those a gander and good luck with your decision!

+1, I got close to 56K miles on my Cross Terrains, replaced them with the same at Costco.

Maybe that's why I'm having such a tough time. Seems like I read that 3 people like cross terrains and then someone else says they LOVE Goodyear Frontera Silent Armors. Then someone says they got really bad gas milage when the made the switch to the SA's... can you tell I read a few threads? :)

I think I'll call costco and see if they have any in stock. Looks like there's a $60 store credit if you buy 4 Michelins.

thanks,

phins is right, you will get numerous suggestions. My OEM Cross Terrains have 48k mi and probably have close to 10k remaining. You might look at the reviews and ratings on Tirerack. From my review of that site, a tire that I am going to take a look at is the Continental CrossContact LX, which is highly rated.

I love my GoodYear Fortera TripleThread! The handling is fantastic on dry and wet road - the pattern is directional for wet road traction!
Good Luck!
