hey guys, i was hit in a parking lot and wasn't at my car at the moment. i have an 03 MDX and the door was hit right at the bottom by the 'seam' and it looks pretty tough to pop out. first question is can this be popped out by hammering it out to look A LITTLE better? second, how the heck does the door panel come off from the inside? i don't wanna mess anything up but it looks terrible. thanks a lot[IMG] [/IMG] |

A year ago I had one of those 'paintless' dent repair places work on a major ding on my daughter's van. It was right on a crease, and I would have bet there was no way, outside of a good body shop, it could have been repaired. The repair is perfect! The paint even showed zero signs of being smashed.
The tech took about an hour to do his majic. Because of the dent's location he had to drill a small hole in the side of the door to gain access to the dent. After the repair, all that was left was a plastic plug covering the hole.
I knew where the dent was, and I could find not a trace. Amazing.
All that for about $180.00. What a bargin. |

| So how does paintless dent repair work? Do they "push" the dent out? |

Agree with all the advice you have been given. It is a pretty amazing process. I was fortunate enough to be given a tour of their training facility in St. Louis. New employees are given a high level of training and are very good at what they do. The tour was very interesting and informative. There are limits to what they can repair, though. Obviously any dent that causes deep scratches will need refinish work. I would give it a try and see what happens. Your damage looks to be borderline to what they can repair without refinish work, but the final answer would have to come from them.
Good luck!:) |

| They work the metal from behind with several customized hand picks. It is slowly worked to release the pressure until the dent is popped out. That is why sometimes when access is limited, or not available, they might have to drill access holes to reach the dent. |
