I have a 2004 touring with NAV, 6 disk CD changer and no RES. I have Sam's A/V unit installed along with a DVD player and the Blitzsafe adapter. My daughter has convinced my wife she needs an Ipod or MP3 player. What would I have to do to get an aux input jack for this? Am I thinking correctly (it was over 4 years ago) that the Blitzsafe may have an extra input that is not being used?
And by the way, what is the difference between an Ipod and a MP3 player?
Thanks!

Your DVD player likely is taking up the only RCA input that the usual Blitzsafe has (unless you have some other version that I'm not aware of). But then again the DVD player may have an AUX or RCA (red and white) input that you can use for an MP3 player.
I may get flamed for this by ipod fanatics but the ipod is basically a glorified MP3 player. The later generations have more capability but the original ipod set the standard for digital music portability with an ingenuous user interface. Many later MP3 players have tried to duplicate it.
Here is the official site outlining what an ipod can and cannot play. I'm not an ipod type person myself but we do have one, and my 9-year-old has a Sansa MP3 player that can do photo and video too (as can the ipod video). |
