After reading this great forum I decided to do my first AFT and VTM fluid change last weekend an my 2004 MDX with 98K km. It was so easy and turkey baster method worked great.
I saved money by doing it myself but dealer riped me off on parts I think. Are we really being screwed here in Canada ( Toronto area) with prices of VTM fluid? I went to my local Honda dealer and they charged me 39.99 + TAX for a gallon of fluid !! I read other posts in this forum and I've never seen anyone paying this much for VTM-4 fluid! Acura dealer charges even more!! Price I paid for ATF fluid was much easier to swallow @ $7.10 per quart and I got 15% discount for buying a case. |

Definitely not cheap. However I'm guessing that it's the dealer who sets the price. Here are some Alberta prices:
Last year: $41.04 + tax from a Honda dealer for VTM. ATF was $8.85 per litre.
This year: $34.50 from an Acura dealer for VTM. ATF was 7.48 per litre.
Why the 15% difference? I didn't receive any discount from the Acura dealer. The air filter was about a dollar more at Acura, however.
