I am getting an overhead drop down DVD player installed in my 04 MDX.

I was first going to get the Audiovox VOD102 model but today when I went to the place they recommended the Alpine PKG-RSE2.

It seems there really aren't many reviews out there on the net of either of these models. The price is the same, so that isn't an issue.

The only thing that is holding me back from the Alpine is that my interior is tan color and the Alpine only comes in black while the Audiovox comes in Tan as an option. Another feature the Alpine has which I like is there are a few buttons in back of the unit for easy access for a driver or passanger to stop the DVD, etc. So if the child(s) falls asleep or we just need thier attention it is easy to just turn off.

Am I just being to anal about the color not being the same as the headliner? It isn't like the Tan is a perfect match either. I was also thinking the trim around the radio/nav is also black.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with any of these units? I always wonder is the Alpine really the better unit (seems to have a much better picture) or is thier margin better on selling the Alpine units??? If I knew for a solid fact that it was a better unit then I would go with that and not worry so much about not matching the headliner

thanks in advance for any opinions

I put the Alpine in my wife's FX35. It is an outstanding unit. Picture quality is top notch. One neat thing it does have is the ability to change a setting and allow the movies to start playing automatically. No messing with the root menus. I highly recommend it.
