While driving my 2006 MDX last night, a VERY LOUD popping noise went off. It sounded like it was from inside the car or like a tire blow! It made my ears ring it was so loud.
There was nothing wrong with the MDX from a visual inspection and no warning lights went off in the car!
Has anyone else had this happen?? I am stumped as to what this could be!!
Thanks,
Clueless 2006 MDX owner!! |

| Look closely at your windhield. When my windshield got hit with a rock, it sounded like a rifle shot. I didn't notice the 'hole' in the glass until the next week. |

I checked all my window glass and did not see anything. This really made my ears ring it was so loud!!
It wasn't a great neiborhood.....but I don't see any bullit holes! HeHe!!
Does anybody think it could have backfired? I am using regular unleaded instead of premium, maybe it doesn't like the cheaper stuff!! |

It was that alien spaceship that I saw hovering last night. They were sending out sonar signals to help find some runaways.
The type of gas you use has no bearing on a backfire. A backfire is caused by unfurned fuel exploding in the exhaust system instead on in the normal place of the cylinder. I have not heard an automobile backfire in many years. If anything, lower octane fuel would tend to have less of a backfire capability because it ignites at a lower ignition point.
