I sold my 2003 X and bought a 2008 X.
I need some help on brake controller.
The new X claimed to prewire with brake controller. I found the 4 wire connector and the part to wire to the controller itself on driver side under the dash.
Does the fuse box on the left side of the vehicle in the trunk provide a connection for brake, aux 12v (backup light) and 12 V constant to trickle charge the trailer battery? |

Well, I have since found the part number and instruction on how this is done.
Part number 08L91-STX-200
And instruction is at https://hondacuraworld.hostasaurus....railerhitch.pdf
No running of new wire for charging and brake controller.
All plug and play. I didn't buy the factory hitch, I am going with Valley Industries Hitch.
About $300 dollars total in cost. Much better than $520. from Acura.
I will post picture next week on how I come along with the project. |

Isn't the $520 Acura oem price tag due to the atf & pwr strg coolers, plus harness? I think the hitch itself is around $300. Other than for bike racks or a hitch mounted cargo box, I think you want the extra coolers if you do any real towing. |

TCMB,
Nope- starting in '07, the X has all the additional super cooling already built in. It's now rated to tow 5,000 pounds.
If you're interested, there are a couple of good threads on the Valley hitch, and one other aftermarket hitch. The Acura hitch hangs down a little further, but allows a full size spare. One of the aftermarkets is not rated for the full 5,000 pound tow, and the other won't allow a full size spare. One of the aftermarkets is a straight, ugly pipe, and the other is tucked up nicely under the rear bumper. |
