OK, so my new car is still super shiny and I opted at the dealer for whatever paint protection they put on with the leather warranty.
So, how soon can I or should I wash and Zaino my car?
So with all the recommendations and posts maybe people can share their experience and steps.
Also, from someplace I read, Zaino is a Polymer as opposed to a wax... Does that mean I can substitute Zaino instead of having to wax my car? Sorry, I have always taken my other cars to the carwash but this one is 'special' :)
Can I just get away with the below steps instead? Or is there a need to wax every once in a while?
I'm thinking of the following:
"Dawn"
Z AIO
Z 2 Pro
Z 6 |

So that bad news is, if you do what you said, the Dawn wash will very likely take off whatever the dealer put on for paint protection. I'm assuming you mean the normal wax that they put on as part of the dealer prep. If so, no problem. If you paid several hundred dollars for some after-market stuff, you'll not be happy (especially since it's just a paint selant like Zaino anyway) |

What was the name of the paint protection and leather warranty they sold you? |

I did read the sticky and I followed the links provided which was helpful and got down to those 3 products from Z as the absolute minimum.
However, the dealer sold me a supposedly paint protection coat called "PERMAPLATE" but which I realized after the fact that it's some bogus ripoff. Having said that, I was told also that the leather would be protected from any tear within the next 7 years so that really sold me since I have 2 car seats for my 2 little ones.
I think the Permaplate is probably some polymer similar to Zaino or perhaps worse.
But if I chose to wash my car, would the "DAWN" and the 3 Z product provide a fairly good protection and a nice lasting shine? |

I think you've answered your own question: you paid the dealer to put on a sealant, similar to Zaino. (I think that Zaino's better. Some fool already called me a Zainoboy).
I don't think you'll see a big improvement by stripping off the dealers polish and putting on Zaino. Since you obviously have that "pride of ownership" glow, may I suggest you clear coat the dealers polish with zaino CS clear seal? It's made exactly for that application, over other waxes and polishes.
THen each time you hand wash, buff dry with Z6 enhancer spray.
Maybe next year you'll wnat to do the whole strip, clay, AIO, Z5 build up, and CS. CS by itself is supposed to seal for 9 months, though. |

+10! Thank you so much. That does make perfect sense. Why strip whatever they put on if indeed they did put on something. I'll follow your suggestion. Since I have it garaged at home and at work! (lucky me!) It should not be exposed to the sun and rain all that much. |
