The first correct post will win a really nice MDX prize, courtesy of yours truly :)

What is the meaning of the following equation?

Q=A((TO-TI)/(L/K + 1/h))

Good luck Googling this one! :2:

how about:

"A method is described for reducing the complexity of temporal logic model checking in systems composed of many parallel processes. The goal is to check properties of the components of a system and then deduce global properties from these local properties. The main difficulty with this type of approach is that local properties are often not preserved at the global level. The authors present a general framework for using additional interface processes to model the environment for a component. These interface processes are typically much simpler than the full environment of the component. By composing a component with its interface processes and then checking properties of this composition, the authors can guarantee that these properties will be preserved at the global level."

After much sweat and pain and IM with Tim, I have come to an answer.

It's the heat loss or gained through the walls of an insulated container

Q - heat lost or gained in watts
L - thickness of insulation in meters
K - Thermal Conductivity of insulation matieral in watts/meter C
A - outside surface area of the container in meters squared
h - Heat Transfer Coefficient of the surface material in watts/meter^2
To - outside temp
Ti - inside temp

yeah. i won, i won...what do i get =)

Was the answer right? What was the prize?

It was the right answer. It'll be the responsibility of the winner to post about their prize once received ;)
