I was just offered a 2008 Base MDX for the invoice price of $37,229 along with 36 month financing of 0.9%. (I asked for this financing, but was hoping for a lower price on the vehicle).
Acura will not combine the special incentive financing with dealer cash back, so if one wants to pay $36,229 or lower, one must finance at a much higher rate.
Would anybody please give me some feedback as to whether invoice price plus 0.9% financing is a good deal on a 2008 Base MDX?
Thank you! |

| Invoice price and 0.9 sounds likes a great deal. All you could ask for is other accesories or maybe a extended warranty. |

Probably the best deals are in California, for any vehicle.
Florida, where I am, sucks by comparison.
One dealer told me July incentives might improve. Don't know if he was BS-ing me or he really knows something. |

Invoice is $37,274 with dest. The $2K incentive brings it down to $35,274. So $34K sounds like a great deal as long as they are not making it up by lowballing your trade in if you have one. |

He doesn't. Acura won't release the July incentives until probably.. I dunno.. the 2nd?
Until then the only people who know are at Acura Corporate.
If I had to guess, and this is only a guess, I would think that the MDX incentives will at the least stay the same, last month it was dealer cash OR rate, now it's all the money or some money and rate.
I would expect to see the RDX get some serious incentives, we should have our first 09 RDXs in any day.
Again, this is only a guess. |

Oh, and to clarify...
Special Rate, $1000 dealer cash.
No special financing, $2000 dealer cash.
If you were quoted invoice with the special financing, then you can probably get it for Invoice less $1k and the 0.9.
Of course, like anything else, it dpeends on market conditions where you are. I know of an Acura dealer who has yet to discount a new TSX more than $250.:19: Reality is, in most markets you should be able to get one for invoice minus incentives and certainly at the end of the month. |

Yes. That's what I am thinking. Invoice plus 0.9% is a little high. Seems $36k plus the 0.9% is what I should shoot for. Of course, with added fees, $36k can turn into $37k in a hurry! Thanks. |

What part of the country are you located in? As long as your local dealer has some competition, Invoice -$1k ought to get that sewn up in no time. |

I live near Tampa. Of the 3 Acura dealers here, only one will seriously deal; the same guy who told me to wait for the July incentives. My original offer was for $35k plus the 0.9% financing, that my credit score is currently 807. I will wait for the July incentives. At worst, the incentives will remain the same. Not only are the MDX's accumulating on dealers' lots, but pretty soon, the 2009's will be coming out. They must move those 2008 MDX's out. I will stick with the $35k and 0.9% offer and let the guy agree or come up a few $100. I have a deposit down on another vehicle, so there is no pressure on me to do something stupid. |

Friend of mine is a sales Manager at an Acura store up in Orlando, if you can't get anywhere in Tampa I can always put you in touch with him. Disclaimer: Nothing in it for me, he's a friend and a straight shooter.
I don't see anyone doing $1,200+ under invoice less incentives right now though, we'd absolutely pass on that deal unless, to be brutally honest, we were stealing your trade or something to that effect. But as soon as we get the July program I will be happy to post it.
Cheapest real deal I have seen so far offered by anone is $250 under invoice. And that's 1 out of, I dunno, 25 or so MDX deals that we've worked this month. Average is still about $800 over invoice in our market, but invoice isn't tough to get, but then again, we're on the outskirts of the NYC market, so you have Acura dealers everywhere. Probably the same in South FL, Chicago, Philly, Southern Cali, etc. |

Call Mike Papadakis. Tell him where you are and what you want and the price you will pay. He is the General Sales Manager for Fountain Acura. He's a straight shooter with over the phone and internet sales that are not wasting salesman's time in the showroom. 407-541-3100
They are lcoated off the Beachline (SR528) and Orange Blossom trail. About four miles from I-4 and SR 528.

I bought a 2008 VW Rabbit 4 door hatch. Incredible amount of front room and also, a lot of room for stuff; 24 mpg on regular gas compared to 19 mpg premium gas on the 545i. A lot of fun to drive, that VW.
I got a great deal on the price along with 0% financing. My kind of people; unlike Acura, which didn't even make me a counter offer. Three dealers didn't even acknowledge my offer.
I'm picking up the VW mid July when I return the 545i.
CR raved about the Rabbit last month and I must say, I concur.
My plan is to drive the VW for a couple of years, then give it to the wife and see what the MDX looks like at that time.
I drove many vehicles over the last year. The only two that impressed me were the MDX and the Rabbit. |

State? Tax Rate? Miles Per Year?
Sounds like a good price to me, depends what your out of pocket was and how many miles per year and state Tax rate. |

|

| NY state-10K miles/yr with approx $2800 out of pocket up front (NY tax, $595 Bank fee, $497 first month payment). |

Disagree with BillHeart:
As BillHeart has previously pointed out, with negotiating MDX's are going for dealer invoice.
To this must be subtracted marketing support of either $2,000 or $2,500.
To see if you go a good deal go to: http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm
Plug in your numbers and see. You will need: MSRP, invoice, money factor and residual.

I just did that.
Using 8.125% and a base car at $34,710 (Invoice - $2500) and 8.125% as the tax I got $470/mo with about $2500 driveoff.
Money factor .00245, Bank fee $595, Residual 56% as I posted earlier.
Now, add roof rack and running boards, and cross bars, that's usually about $1300 including installation, and you're at about $497/mo with $3000 driveoff.
So you either got the accessories for cheap or you got the car for $200 under invoice.
I'd say you did well. Be happy to post a screenshot if anyone wants a breakdown.
(Edit, I put wrong cap cost in) |
