Hi guys!
I am planning to install Sport Running Boards by myself. Have not bought them yet tho!
My question is: I have front mud flaps installed(from the beginning), do they come off, or they stay there.
Those who have them. How do you like them?
Easy to get in and out? I know the look is very nice. I need it for my kinds tho and for the look also :)
Would you sill recommend Sport or Side step or regular boards?

Thanks a lot for your opinion!

I just installed my SRB the other day. Have a look at my post for pic. http://www.acuramdx.org/forums/show...&threadid=32897
The front mud flaps come off. I have a couple install pics and tips if interested?

It took me around two weeks to finally decide to purchase the side steps. Believe me, it was so hard for me to make a decision. After hours of browsing in the forum and testing out the SRB, I found it next to useless for adults to actually use. It might work out fine for kids though. Side steps may cost more but I would think if I would spend this kind of money for an accessory, might as well to put it to use.

Also, as a person who is not very handy here, the side steps are the easiest to install out of the three.

I agree with you, Sport look very nice, but they are not very practical, only for kids. I do not think me and my wife need any boards at all. But kids sure do. Another thing I read here that Sport boards are in a way for adults when getting in. That is why I torn between Sport and Side Steps.

Either style board will be in the way if you don't step on it to get into or out of the car. My kids have no problem using the SRB and my wife and I step around them.

Personally I think the tubular steps look like they belong on a pickup truck and not an MDX

I like Sport better. They look like they belong on MDX.

Installed Sport boards. They really look nice on X.
It was tricky to assemble the boards though. The plastic caps on the end of the boards required some skills to attach them, since I could not use regular wrench or screwdriver for that. Had to go to Sears and get a flexible attachment for the screwdriver. Besides that were pretty simple to install, the instructions were very handy. The price $439 shipped - great too!
Can confirm that this boards are a little it your way when getting in the car. After 2 weeks of using them we are fine with that. But they help a lot our kids getting in and out. Another advantage of having them is that the sides of the X are much cleaner now, since they, I guess, block the dirt from underneath the car.
I think Sport is the right choice in my case. We like it a lot. Killer looks and handy for kids. Recommend. :trustme:

I installed the sport running board myself and you can check out this other thread which has a lot of information on the installation and opinions from other members.

Personally, I originally thought that they were useless based on comments from a lot of people until, my mom came over for a visit and realized that actually, it is useful for the back row and also the middle row if the people choose to step out. Just my 2 cents.

Also, they do look great but there were a bit tricky to install and you do require some additional tools as the standard ratchet and screwdrivers were hard to fit in small corners. Also, I don't know how many people actually applied the actual torque as some of the bolts were sooo hard to get to with my torque wrench.

I bought exactly the same tool as rockyroad
