I recently purchased a used 05 MDX. I have washed and waxed it, but I can still see hard water spots on the paint and windows.
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to remove these?

They are probably hard (mineral) water spots.

On the glass surfaces, you could try white vinegar mixed with water in a spray bottle to dissolve the minerals, and wipe. And spray. Wait a little, rub. You do not want to do this on the paint, however.

If the white rings are on your paint, and you applied a wax, they are now under the wax, so you have to strip the wax back off to get at them.

Dawn dishwashing liquid in your wash bucket will strip the wax back off of your paint quite effectively.

To get all the wax off, use a clay bar product.

Once you get the wax off, you need to get the mineral deposit spots off. You may need to polish the car, then apply a wax for protection.

The most common cause of calcium rings is to wash the vehicle in sunlight without drying it. Usually, however, washing a car in sunlight at all is a bad idea.

Thanks for the tips. I had read somewhere else that using the distilled vinegar on the paint was ok too - I guess not?

I've used diluted distilled vinegar on the paint without issue. Spray it on and wipe it off, don't let it sit for long, and do it on a cool surface.

Thanks - I called my local Acura dealership and they said to do the same - it won't damage the paint.

Thanks!
