I am away from home for the next 2 months. Notice that black colored armrest is soiled from arm resting on it (body sweat).
Any suggestions what to use on this. I normally clean it with a good leather cleaner every 3 months, but I am currently not where the cleaner is. |

Are you asking for something to use in place of leather cleaner? If you cannot get some where you are, I can mail you some. :D |

I could get some leather cleaner but would have to drive about 20 miles to get it , and the area is only about 4 sq inches.
Do you think I can try to clean with a damp rag, and not rub very much? |

Leather is very fickle. I would not recommend any other cleaner that cleaner designed for leather. That being said, a damp rag might be your best bet. Dont do what a buddy of mine did and use windex. :eek: |

I doubt that the arm rest is leather. The one on my 2004 is not. I generally use Armorall to clean it.

i usually clean the inside door and dashboard and stuff with windex....what if some gets on leather....why is it bad for the leather? |

If Windex is used on leather for prolonged periods it will cause the leather to dry out. |

Leather is cow skin. You wouldnt clean your skin with windex, you shouldnt do it with leather either. :)
Ammonia dries out the natural oils in leather. Dry leather cracks and becomes less pliable. |

Using a damp rag is definitely better than doing nothing. You don't want the salt to sit there any longer than necessary.
Does anyone there (probably female) use a mild moisturizing soap like Dove? I suspect a small amount of that would be pretty safe on leather in a pinch. |

Just called the Acura service dept and was advised that the TOP of the center console (armrest) IS leather. |
